The journey to great teeth starts young.
Please bring your child to Hesire Dental for routine check-ups to ensure their teeth and soft oral tissues remain healthy for years.
How We Help and Support Your Child’s Dental Development
Our team loves to work with kids, nurturing their interest in looking after their teeth and showing them the potential risks to their oral health in a fun and engaging way.
Our clinical team have a spirited yet relaxed chairside manner that puts kids of all ages at ease, though we understand it takes kids time to develop trust and mutual respect.
During your child’s first few visits, they will likely resist us examining their teeth (this is a usual and expected reaction). Over time, we will work to build up their confidence so that they feel comfortable in the dental practice setting.
Your Child’s Check-Ups: What to Expect
Your child’s dentist will examine the following during their check-ups:
- The soft tissues in their mouth (gums, palate, and tongue).
- Teeth for signs of decay, infection, and erosion.
- How might their diet contribute to dental-related issues?
- How their teeth are developing structurally.
- Whether there is evidence of any chronic medical conditions.
As a solution to decay and decalcification, we may suggest fluoride treatment or fissure sealant treatments to prevent further problems.
Does My Child Need to Attend Check-Ups If They Have Healthy Teeth?
Your child’s teeth develop rapidly during their early years before they develop their adult teeth. This development requires close monitoring every six months by a dentist, who can catch any problems early. One of the biggest problems we tend to see with children’s teeth is decay, which, when left undetected, can cause their baby teeth to require extraction.
The good news is this is entirely avoidable with routine check-ups and an appropriate home oral healthcare routine.
